MISSION

ADS Environmental Services goal is to assist private companies and government institutions in the sustainable development of aquaculture, fisheries, lakes and reservoirs, oil and gas development and coastal environments.

Here at ADS, we pride ourselves in providing cutting edge environmental services and performing research on highly important topics and emerging industries such as aquaculture, the marine environment, and climate change.

Nurlena Binti Quadra

Director/Office Manager

Lena previously worked in London for an environmental consulting firm and then DHI Water and Environment as a numerical modeller for 7 years and since then ADS. Lena has worked on a number of reclamation and coastal hydraulic studies.

Dr. Neil Hartstein

Project Manager

Dr Hartstein has over 20 years experience, in the development and application of numerical models in the fields of aquaculture, Oil and gas industry, coastal hydraulics and reclamations and dams/reservoirs. Neil has worked in more than 12 countries and has project managed more than 150 projects across a wide range of disciplines.

Mr. Johnathan Daniel Maxey

Senior Environmental Scientist (KL Branch)

  • Sabah EPD Consultant (S0222):  Marine Science, Water Quality, Microbial Ecology

Johnathan has a Master’s Degree in marine science with more than 8 years of experience working in the field of microbial ecology and nutrient cycling. He has been involved in projects regarding environmental monitoring, nutrient cycling, benthic and pelagic microbial ecology for the US Department of Defence, the Tasmanian Salmon Growers Association, and Sanford, among others. Daniel is also undertaking his PhD, part time, studying the release of greenhouse gases from marine sediments.

Mr. Shukry Bakar

Programmer and Marine Scientist

Shukry has been involved in projects regarding aquaculture, commercial fishing, habitat assessment, marine surveys and hydraulic studies over the last 6 years. Shukry specialises in the use of GIS and numerical software such as MIKE and DEPOMOD.

Ms. Grace Wong

Numerical Modeler

Grace has been working with ADS for a period of 3 years, firstly as an intern and then as full time staff. Grace works with MIKE and DEPOMOD numerical modelling software and focuses on nearshore and continental shelf hydrodynamics. Grace has recently published two 2020/2021 papers looking at the physical oceanography of the South China Sea and the Blue Economy.

Mr. Chance Sullivan

Project Engineer

Chance is a mechanical engineer with over 8 years of experience.  Chance works primarily with numerical modelling, hydrodynamics, water quality, and coding for processing of global environmental models and satellite data.  Additionally, Chance assists in environmental monitoring and reporting, field data collection, marine surveys, and technical writing.

Mr. Gene Cedric

Environmental Scientist

Gene is an environmental scientist with 6+ years of experience.  Here at ADS, Gene specialises in GIS, DEPOMOD modelling, environmental monitoring and reporting, aquaculture, and field data collection.  Additionally, Gene has experience with work on environmental impact assessments and coastal construction projects.

Dr. Dane Dickinson

Senior Environmental Scientist

Dane specializes in nutrient and sediment exchange (modelling and observations).  Additionally, as our ground staff in New Zealand, Dane assists with the survey work in many of our projects there.
